Eligibility for cabin crew or air hostess job varies from airline to airline and nation to nation. Each airline has its own specific requirements for selection of cabin crew. However there is certain minimum standard parameter. These are as follows:
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The minimum age for recruitment is normally 18/19 years; some airlines set the minimum entry age at 21 and maximum age should be 25-28 depending on airlines.
- Educational qualification requires intermediate or “A” level pass. Some airlines demand graduate from a recognized University.
- Minimum height normally above 5'2”.However.now most airlines demand 5’2” or above for female and 5’4” or above for male cabin crew.
- Weight is proportional to Height.
- Friendly personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Well groomed and self presentation skills.
- Good Eyesight and Physical fitness.
- Ability to work as part of a team under pressure and in an irregular lifestyle.
- The ability to swim at least 25 meters; some airlines require 50 meters
- The will to live and work in the country in which airline is based.
- A smart appearance is essential, and visible tattoos or body piercing are not usually permitted.
- Should be fluent in English; knowledge of a second language will be treated as an added advantage.
- Previous experience in customer service, nursing, hotel and catering may be particularly beneficial.
- Holding a valid international passport which enables you to travel anywhere in the world.
